AND JOSEPH HAD A GROWTH AGENDA...

Pathetic is as pathetic does. In an era that has witnessed the shootings of President Donald Trump and media icon Charlie Kirk, Democrats wish to let you know that the political violence that many of conservatives have suffered at the terrorist groups that support Democrats upon conservatives, they too suffer from conservatives allegedly at the hands of MAGA. This "political violence" is certainly getting out of hand. On October 5, 2025, the home of DC Representative Adeoye Owolewa was vandalized in what he believes was a politically-motivated attack. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reports a decrease in overall property crime for the first nine months of 2025 compared to 2024. For non-emergency situations. Call 311 for incidents that are not an immediate threat and happened at least an hour ago. You can report property damage, theft, and noise complaints. Use the online reporting tool on the MPDC website to file a report for destruction of property. In D.C., vandalism is legally referred to as "Destruction of Property" or "Defacing Public or Private Property". The charge is classified as a felony or a misdemeanor depending on the value of the damage. Damage valued at $1,000 or more can result in up to 10 years in prison. Damage valued at less than $1,000 is typically a misdemeanor. Contact 311 to report graffiti on public or private property. The Department of Public Works (DPW) provides free removal services. Exterior door installation generally costs $400-$1000. Front entry doors cost up to $1,000. I don't remember "FU" graffiti ever representing a political damnation. AI says the term "fu" is not inherently a political term, but it can appear in political contexts due to its various meanings in East Asian languages and its use in pop culture.

"I've been here for about seven years. and nothing like this has ever happened,” he said. "[…] If you notice in this neighborhood, all the houses look the same. Doors are the same color, or one off of it, but my house was the only one that was targeted, only one that was spray painted ‘FU,’ the only one of all people. In this kind of neighborhood, I can only assume it's because of who I am." Owolewa told News4 he believes this happened Friday night, but he didn't notice it until Saturday. He has a security camera outside his front door but says it isn’t working – a repair that he says he plans on taking care of soon. Owolewa is running for a D.C. Council at-large seat, and he currently serves as the District’s shadow representative — an unpaid position voted for by District residents to advocate for DC statehood. So I am supposed to believe that he has no real political power, gets paid nothing for advocating for statehood, is attractive to a villainous MAGA rebel who seeks to target him, Really? Owolewa, who runs your PR Department? Jussie Smollett? Pathetic is as pathetic does. Truly. It is trifling how desperate the Democrats and the media are to conjure and connive a fatry tale that reveals how they are oppressed by the Right. A better story would be a continuation of the January 6th Insurrection as declared by Robert Contee. As the former chief of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Robert Contee III was a key law enforcement figure during the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. He has consistently defended his department's response and placed blame on the delayed and "tepid" response from the Department of Defense and the slow deployment of the National Guard. His defense of the "false flag" event, the term for an act, like an attack or incident, that is carried out to blame an opponent or a different party, cover-ups masks the murder of Ashli Babbitt. But, I'm supposed to believe that a political enemy is targeting a shadow representative who has no power in a federal district that lacks sovereign authority to enforce statehood. Where there is deception, Democrats require gullibility. I don't suffer fools.

I thought it was funny to start this prose with a Jussie Smollett quip. Talk about a man who can't figure out whether this was done on a Friday or Saturday but his neighbors have similar doors and didn't notice the vandalism? Democrats hope their own are slower than turtles. In a 90% Democrat city? Sure! Owolewa is the best that Marxists' can offer a new day. My opinion only. Speaking of the fallacies of the left, I am reminded of the phrase "never let a crisis go to waste". A maxim suggesting that a difficult or unstable situation can be used as an opportunity for significant change or reform. The most commonly cited recent use is by Rahm Emanuel, former chief of staff to President Barack Obama. We have a crisis in Washington, DC. The city administration pretends it is the answer for the economic activity of the federal district. At a time when the President Trump is preparing to pull the plug on 100,000's of federal jobs and close multiple agencies due to the Schumer Shutdown, Mayor Bowser presents  key economic initiatives are organized under her Grow DC and Growth Agenda plans, with a strong focus on attracting businesses, creating jobs in tech and entertainment, and revitalizing downtown areas. The programs aim to counter economic uncertainty from a shrinking federal presence and promote long-term prosperity. I have spoken against such but I will do so in greater detail now.

The crisis at hand requires that a Mayor presents an even more district business friendly proposal. It is a budget that does not rise to crises at hand. It is a proposal that is not ready for a crisis that is 250 times larger than has seriously been considered. Crisis (n.) is early 15c., crise, crisis, "decisive point in the progress of a disease," also "vitally important or decisive state of things, point at which change must come, for better or worse," from Latinized form of Greek krisis "turning point in a disease, that change which indicates recovery or death" (used as such by Hippocrates and Galen), literally "judgment, result of a trial, selection," from krinein "to separate, decide, judge" (reconstructed to be from PIE root *krei- "to sieve," thus "discriminate, distinguish"). The transferred (non-medical) sense is attested by 1620s in English. This is a moment of turning that requires a Mayor that seeks the success of the individual and not the Party. A promise made an expected promise kept. Russell Vought is the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He has submitted plans to furlough 100,000's of federal jobs. The MAGA populous is expecting this promise to be kept by President Trump. Anything less will be a major disappointment during the Schumer Shutdown and not appreciated during the mid-terms of next year's elections. Believe me! Believe me! We expect the promise to be kept. Such a promise requires a Mayor that is proactive and not reactive. No work, mo pay.

Joseph had a Growth Agenda. In the Bible, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dream about cows to mean Egypt would have seven years of plentiful harvests followed by seven years of severe famine. Pharaoh dreamt of seven healthy, fat cows from the Nile followed by seven thin, sickly cows that consumed the fat ones. Joseph explained that the fat cows symbolized years of abundance, and the thin cows represented a coming famine that would be so severe it would cause the prosperous years to be forgotten. Joseph advised Pharaoh to prepare for the famine by appointing a wise person to collect and store one-fifth of the grain during the abundant years. Joseph with his new, good government job right out of prison, tells "the father of Marxism", Karl Marx, to hold my beer. Joseph collected all of the "unstamped silver", cornering the silver market for the Pharaoh in exchange for grain. The money failed. You better have gold when the money fails. As the famine wore on, the people out of currency, offered the assets that remained-their cattle. "And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail. (Genesis 47:16)" In the time of Pharoah, Joseph was the first to promise, "You'll own nothing and be happy." In a period of terror, the Pharaoh became more wealthy and absolute in power. Joseph divinely recognized a crisis and advantaged himself. (Genesis.41:38-49). Joseph became number two in Egypt, only second to Pharaoh., and he got a new name and a new wife. Talk about letting no crisis go to waste. "And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. (Genesis 41:45)" No money. No assets. Filled with the liability of a famine, the people came to Joseph and offered themselves servants or slaves to the Pharaoh. "Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate. (Genesis 47:19)." The Pharaoh (the State) became the omnipotent in the land and the people (slaves of the State) became the Collective. Marx needed a revolution amongst the Socialists/the Communists/the Marxists but Joseph needed a famine. The treasure of a crisis. The federal district had better be prepared.

Economics is as simple as it is complex. Based on supply and demand, you set price, with interest in making things affordable. Government supply and demand refers to how government policies influence the overall supply and demand for goods and services in an economy, either by directly participating in the market or by creating regulations, taxes, and incentives that affect producers and consumers. Governments use policies like fiscal and monetary measures, taxes, and subsidies to manage economic fluctuations, with approaches such as demand-side economics focusing on government spending to boost demand and supply-side economics focusing on policies that increase production. Demand-side economics is an economic theory that advocates for increased government spending and lower taxes to stimulate demand for goods and services. This approach is based on the idea that consumer demand is the primary driver of economic growth, and that by boosting demand, the overall economy will benefit. It contrasts with supply-side economics, which focuses on increasing supply through tax cuts and deregulation. Muriel Bowser's recent economic initiatives, detailed in her administration's FY26 "Grow DC" budget, focus on stimulating growth, attracting new businesses, and revitalizing the downtown core. The plan addresses the economic challenges posed by a shrinking federal workforce and leans into high-growth sectors like technology, sports, and entertainment. The budget focuses on past shrinkages in the federal workforce, estimated at 40,000, and the expansion of the National Football League (NFL) to the City,

The primary business sectors in Washington D.C. are the U.S. Federal Government, which employs the largest number of people and drives numerous supporting industries like consulting, technology, and cybersecurity, along with professional services, media and communications, technology, and a significant hospitality and tourism industry. The city also hosts many international organizations, embassies, and companies in health care and life sciences, notes Washington DC Economic Partnership.  Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought has threatened mass layoffs of federal workers amid the ongoing government shutdown that began on October 1, 2025. This move is seen as a pressure tactic by the Trump administration to influence spending negotiations with congressional Democrats, during the Schumer Shutdown. In a memo issued before the shutdown, Vought instructed federal agencies to consider permanent reductions in force (RIFs), or layoffs, for employees working on programs that lack funding and are not consistent with President Trump's priorities. The expectation is at least 100,000 federal workers RIF'd. “I want Washingtonians to know that this growth agenda is about our future. In FY26, we’re not standing still; we’re being bold and making catalytic investments that will bring new jobs and new revenue into DC,” said Mayor Bowser. “We know that our economy is shifting, and we know the challenges we are facing. Thousands of Washingtonians have already been impacted by those challenges. This is a budget that recognizes that we can’t just sit on our hands and hope something changes – we’ve got to make change happen.” If got to make "change happen", then why focus attention on building government owned business incubators and accelerators?

The Mayor’s budget invests in the tech industry as a key growth industry, with a focus on attracting new tech businesses and global entrepreneurs to DC.

Accelerating DC’s Position as a Tech Hub:

  1. $2.2M to revive the Qualified High Technology Companies (QHTC) tax incentive.
  2. $2.4M to create the DC Technology Ecosystem Fund to invest in business accelerators and incubators for start-up tech companies in DC.

Invests is a peculiar term for spending money. Simply tax and spend. If you truly want to attract businesses and create jobs, why not offer a $10,000 tax credit for small businesses to seed in DC and hire DC citizens as workers? Advanced Intelligence (AI) is contributing to layoffs and a shift in the tech job market, with some roles in data entry, administration, and customer service being replaced, while also creating new positions requiring AI skills. While specific numbers vary, a recent report noted over 27,000 job cuts tied to AI since 2023, driven by companies seeking efficiency and using AI for tasks like coding and data analysis. The long-term impact remains uncertain, but a growing focus on adapting to and utilizing AI is emerging for workers. The unemployment rate in the District of Columbia for 2025 varies by month, but recent data shows it at 6.0% in July 2025, according to the DC.gov release and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The rate for the entire Washington-DC-MD metropolitan area was 5.6% in August 2025, according to the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES). The investment in a particular industry subjects the City to the whims of economic discrimination. Government should not be in the business of picking and choosing winners. Because it doesn't act in the time constraints of the free market, it is often reactive rather than proactive. It doesn't react well to the liquid change of the tech industry. I ask that you show the success of government invested business accelerator and incubator is better than a private accelerator and incubator? Government should not be a competitor to private industry. While governments occasionally provide commercial goods or services, it is widely argued that they should not compete with private companies due to several negative effects on free markets, innovation, and economic efficiency. This competition is often criticized for distorting the market and creating an uneven playing field. Incubators, accelerators and co-working spaces provide start-up firms and small businesses with an entrepreneurial environment, professional network, savvy mentors and critical resources to develop and grow successful businesses. Those who choose the field of entrepreneurialism know the freedom and appreciation of innovation that begins in a garage or kitchen. This vital approach to business success is essential to all innovation. Success opens the opportunity for entry into private incubators, accelerators and co-working spaces. Such sites are not always successful places for the entrepreneur.

Business incubators nurture early-stage, often pre-product startups with a long-term, hands-on approach, offering resources like office space, mentorship, and a support network. Accelerators are short, intense, cohort-based programs focused on rapid scaling for startups with a product or early traction, providing seed funding in exchange for equity and culminating in a demo day to pitch to investors. An online startup accelerator called Newchip filed for bankruptcy in May 2023, causing significant issues for the thousands of startup companies that had gone through its program. The company's collapse was a "cautionary tale" for founders, as Newchip's failure threatened the equity of many businesses. Several notable bankruptcies and closures have impacted the coworking, accelerator, and incubator sectors, revealing industry weaknesses while highlighting the resilience of new, more sustainable business models. The pandemic accelerated remote work trends, exposing the financial vulnerabilities of some providers, most notably WeWork. Who has the gonads to say a government funded program is not successful or will the program continue to be funded because no one will admit to its failings. The Obama administration began this push among Democrat Socialist leaders throughout America. The President Barack Obama White House insisted: "“Startup America” is a White House initiative to celebrate, inspire, and accelerate high-growth entrepreneurship throughout the nation.  This coordinated public/private effort brings together an alliance of the country’s most innovative entrepreneurs, corporations, universities, foundations, and other leaders, working in concert with a wide range of federal agencies to dramatically increase the prevalence and success of America’s entrepreneurs." I believe that government can celebrate, inspire and accelerate entrepreneurship is to get out of the way of such businesses in our economy. Reward the free market by allowing companies to innovate on their accord and risk as they see fit without risk to the taxpayer.

The FY26 Grow DC Budget invests $52 million for early-stage, DC-based tech companies and $2.4 million for tech start-up accelerators—it also adds another $5 million to the Vitality Fund to keep the District’s economy growing.  A tax break would yield a greater return in creating small businesss and jobs in a more stable, expansive and diverse economy. $30 million increase for MPD to hire more officers, create a new horse mounted unit, and purchase crime fighting technology and equipment
Just wondering what happened to all the money budgeted in prior years since it was you, Ms. Mayor, complaining that you would have been as successful as Trump was in his Law Enforcement Crackdown if you had 500 officers? By the way, horses in lieu of cars? Really? $25 million to demolish Building 41 and begin planning and design for new student housing for the University of the District of Columbia  Why do college students who live in DC need to live on the UDC Campus? Is it for the illegal aliens that you champion? $73 million to build out the pedestrian and bicycle trail network  You are kidding, right? The budget eliminates programs that had not begun, saving $31 million annually, including Child Wealth Funds and the Child Tax Credit. The truth is you stole that money from DC children and really owe them. In addition, increasing the Child Tax Credit is a prudent economic development strategy not eliminating it. There are some things that are true economic growth and that I applaud. The Growth Agenda will help the District attract new jobs and cut red tape by: Making it easier to open a new business in DC:
  1.  Reforming zoning procedures to streamline reviews of new development projects
  2.  Pausing Building Energy Performance Standards and Net Zero requirements
  3.  Repealing the Parking Benefit Equivalent Program
  4.  Reforming the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act to encourage new investment in housing production
  5.  Repealing Initiative 82 and establish sales tax holidays for restaurants
Otherwise, this is a growth agenda for growing government not business.
